The Good Karma Los Angeles Founder's Personal Story
Inspiration Behind Organizing the 5K Walk Event |
Alignment with Good Karma's Mission and Values |
After four years of running Good Karma and serving over 100,000 meals, I felt a strong desire to do even more for our community. The decision to organize this 5K walk was deeply personal, as the two causes we are supporting—cancer and mental health—have profoundly affected my family. We've lost loved ones to these struggles, and I am passionate about honoring their memory and supporting others facing similar battles.
Good Karma is built on the foundation of giving back to those who need it the most. Our core mission is to serve and uplift our community, and this event is a natural extension of that commitment. It embodies our lifestyle of compassion, support, and collective action.
Goals for the 5K Walk |
Importance of Raising Awareness |
Through this event, I aim to unite people who are currently struggling with mental health issues and cancer, fostering a sense of community and awareness. Additionally, our goal is to raise significant funds to support organizations dedicated to these causes, helping them continue their vital work.
There is something truly magical about coming together as a community to walk for a cause. It's more than just an event; it's a healing experience that brings people closer and raises awareness about critical issues affecting our lives.
Impact on Participants |
Use of Raised Funds |
I hope that participants will find closure and realize they are not alone in their struggles. By joining this event, they will become part of a supportive community, finding strength and solidarity in shared experiences.
While this event is a passion project and not directly funding Good Karma, we hope to meet like-minded individuals who share our mission of helping others in need. All proceeds will go directly to the two charities we are supporting, reinforcing our commitment to these important causes.
Personal Motivation |
Why Participate? |
My personal experiences with cancer and mental health within my family are my biggest motivators for hosting this event. These causes are incredibly close to my heart, and I am driven to make a difference in honor of my loved ones.
Participants should care about this cause because 100% of the proceeds go toward supporting two charities that are making a real impact. By joining the walk, they contribute to meaningful change and help those in need.
Uniqueness of the 5K Walk |
Building a Stronger Community |
This 5K walk stands out because we are supporting two charities instead of one, doubling the impact of our efforts. It's a unique opportunity to make a broader difference and address multiple critical issues simultaneously.
I envision this event as a way to build a stronger, more connected community around our cause. Through Priya Means Love, I hope to forge new, lasting friendships and partnerships that will drive future events and initiatives, strengthening our collective efforts to help those in need
